Moments ago, the following information went out to all G5 clients. G5's team of digital experts felt that the information surrounding Google's latest announcement is a must-read for all of our blog followers. So, take a few minutes to read on...
Dear Valued Client:
Earlier today, Google posted a blog announcing the launch of Google My Business, a new tool that combines the management of Google+ and/or Google Places into a new, integrated approach. Google is essentially trying to streamline and make coherent the process of managing local business data, reviews and social interactions across its many sites.
Our partnership with Google enabled us to be in the know days ago, but G5 was required to keep the information confidential until their public announcement. After reviewing the new tool, three key highlights:
• Shorter lag time between when data edits are made and appearance of those changes in Maps/Search
• Simpler and easier interface for advertisers, including improved import capabilities, live status per location, and the ability to see and quickly resolve data conflicts
• Improved interface for managing locations
Net: This announcement is a good thing.
There were rumors that the next big change from Google would be the end of Google+. That may come to fruition, but today’s announcement indicates that is not the case. In fact, G5 thinks that the launch of Google My Business represents an impressive new commitment by Google to the Local and the SMB markets.
Please be assured that G5 remains committed to the highest level of knowledge and support for our clients to get the best Local SEO results.
