This data dates back to January 2010, but we’re revisiting it because the implications for Senior Living community owners and marketers are still relevant. These numbers have likely risen since this Pew report was released, but as of December 2009, 70%+ of seniors age 54-64 – a group that includes decision-makers when it comes to their elderly parents’ living situation – are spending time online. 38% of seniors 65 and older are online, too.
Here's something interesting to note: according to this survey, seniors engaged in social media are the exception, not the rule. This group is spending most of their time on email and search. (Searching for the perfect senior living community, no doubt).
